EXPLORATIONS
If life were merely made up of separate things—objects, ideas, people neatly sorted into labeled drawers—it would be far easier to sort, and far easier to lose or miss out on.
My fascination starts when the drawers break down and contents converge—where meanings overlap, where light finds its way through surfaces, where the unfinished tells a deeper truth than the complete, where distinctive strengths come together.
My experimentations are centered on reaching people through the creation of visual, experiential and relational spaces where every person - holding unique richness – is able to reflect on the present moment.
I find myself drawn to layering— It exists in the subtle crinkle of butter paper, in the way a sheer curtain shifts and reshapes the morning glow, in the act of peeling back history to find ourselves staring at echoes of our own past. It exists most profoundly in the living Word of God, layered with meaning, inexhaustible in its depth, unfolding itself in new ways with every encounter.
COLLECTIONS, CHANGES & MOVEMENT —
Life itself reveals the constant need for conversions... The uneven brushstroke, the discoloration of a well-worn object, the countless iterations of a thing before it is declared “final” (and even then, never truly so).
People, too, are glorious in their incompleteness. We are all unfinished works, transformable clay - growing seeds...
